Meet Pastor Neil:
As Senior Pastor of Lamplighter, My time is divided between preparing for mid-week and weekend services, and working full time in the secular workforce in Information Technology. Yes, I confess, I am a computer guy. One might think that working outside the church would be a hindrance on my spiritual time and life, but I find it not only keeps me more in touch with reality and the issues my congregation deals with, but provides daily opportunity to be an honorable testimony and witness to my co-workers… plus sets me free economically to pour more resources into ministry and missions.
As a fourth generation Christian, I was born in La Porte Indiana, the 9th of 10 children. I entered the United States Navy out of highschool. I am a Vietnam vet (I served 2 tours) and was also part of the Middle East task force under President Jimmy Carter that prepared to rescue the American Embassy hostages in 1979/1980. Accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior in January of 1972 (early on in my military career) provided me numerous opportunities to train and develop new and growing believers at sea, evangelize foreign nationals while in port, as well as assist missionaries in several countries during my military travels. I served nine and a half years before re-entering civilian life.
Since then, through the years, I have spoken to both college and high school groups all across California, providing insight, motivation, and tools for achieving personal and professional success. As a management consultant, I traveled the US, troubleshooting public safety agencies such as fire & police departments and emergency response organizations to help them increase their effectiveness and efficiency.
I attended Life Bible college in Glendale California in the early 80’s while serving in a local church as worship Leader, Royal Rangers Senior Commander, Sunday School teacher, and small groups facilitator. Relocating to northern California in 1987, I served as Childrenʼs Church and Sunday School teacher, small groups facilitator, Elder, Worship Leader, and Pastor.
It is my desire that if you have not already had a life changing encounter with God, through the person of Jesus Christ, that you give serious consideration to seeking Him out.
